Good afternoon!
Here are your updates for the week: 1.) Our class trip is fast approaching! Forms and money are asked to be returned no later than Thursday, June 20th. Final details, particularly for drivers and chaperones, will be sent home near the end of this week. 2.) Students do not have school on Thursday, June 27th. The final day for students will be Friday, June 28th. I do not have information yet on timelines for dismissal, etc. on that day but I will pass them along once they are finalized! Have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!
Here are your updates for the week: 1.) You student should have a rather large packet of information about our camping trip in their possession! We went over it in great detail today but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. The first two pages need to be returned (pick-up information and permission form) along with $60 by Thursday, June 20th (the 21st at the absolute latest). If you put your name forward to be a driver, I sent home a separate form with your student regarding the number of seats you have available in your car. Thank you once again for all of your help and support! 2.) There will be a grade 5/6 dance this Thursday, June 14th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. I have not yet been told what the cost for entry is but will communicate it with students once it is known. That's all for now! Have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!
Here are your updates for the week: 1.) This Wednesday, June 5th is the final CLT day of the year! Students will be dismissed at 1:05 pm. 2.) We will be heading to the IMAX in Bayers Lake on Thursday, June 6th. Students will need to be to the school by 8:20 am as we will be departing shortly thereafter. Students who have not returned their forms and/or money are asked to do so as soon as possible! Students are not permitted to take electronics with them on the bus. Also, we will be eating lunch once we return from the IMAX. Therefore students should plan to pack a lunch as cafeteria service will be over by the time we return. 3.) There will be activities taking place for students in grades 5&6 this Wednesday, June 5th from 4pm - 6pm. This is being organized by Student Council. The cost is $8 and includes a meal and snacks. Money is due back to Mr. Neaves by tomorrow for students planning to attend (Tuesday, June 4th). 4.) As the end of the year approaches, there have been some questions surrounding end of year festivities for grade 6 students. Now that we are part of a new school and grade configuration, we will not be having a recognition ceremony in June as has been held in previous years at BES. The common practice of BJHS is to present student awards and celebrate achievements from the previous year the following September, so grades 5 and 6 will become part of that practice as of this coming September. I know this major change as a result of the re-configuration, but we will be doing many activities to celebrate the end of the year both within the classroom and as a school. 5.) Information will be coming home in the near future regarding the final details and information about payment for our overnight camping trip to Sherbrooke Lake Camp on June 24-25, stay tuned! At present we are searching for a few more potential volunteers to drive students to camp on the morning on June 24 and pick students up from camp on June 25 to return them to the school. If you have completed (or are willing to complete) volunteer paperwork through the school and might be able to help out with this, please let me know. Thank you and have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!

The theatre had to re-schedule our original date and they haven't gotten back to us about a new date. As soon as we have more information it will be sent home! Have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!
Here are your updates for the week: 1.) Thank you so much to those who have volunteered to help with our end of the year class trips! I will be in touch closer to the events to confirm the details. If you have not yet filled out the paperwork necessary to volunteer with school events (police check, child abuse registry check, and j form), please let me know so that I can send copies home for you to complete. The police check and child abuse registry check both take some time to complete once you send them away so I could recommend getting started on them as soon as possible! The j form does not take long to complete but must be done once a year. I know the paperwork can be quite cumbersome so I do appreciate you taking the time to complete them above and beyond the actual time spent volunteering! If you would still like to volunteer (particularly for the camping trip), please let me know at your earliest convenience. 2.) The next CLT day will be on Wednesday, May 8th. 3.) We will be walking to HB Studios on Thursday morning for the Milk Sport Fair. Students are asked to dress for the weather and the walk. Have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!

Students do not have school on Monday, Apr. 29th as it is an inservice day for teachers. 3.) Students received the notice today regarding our end of the year activities. The first one, the Milk Sport Fair, is next week (May 2nd). Students will need to bring in their money ($3) by Friday, Apr. 26th if at all possible. Students also received a contract that needs to be signed and returned as soon as possible (preferably by Friday) as we need to return it to the camp. Money does not need to be sent in for either the IMAX trip or the camping trip at this time, dates will follow. 4.) We are currently working on division in math class. We will be starting with strategies for whole number division and eventually moving on to tackle division with decimal numbers. I have asked that students practice their multiplication facts for a minimum of 5 minutes each night to help increase their fact fluency and overall level of comfortability with their multiplication facts. They can do so either by using "My Math App" or use the practice papers provided in class. Have a great week! Mlle Hillier Good afternoon!
